First blog post in a while in order to try and get our Amazon associates application approved

Your Cable Store stopped selling products directly through our website sometime ago to concentrate almost exclusively on selling through Fulfillment By Amaozn. Since then we have maintained our website for informational purposes and until around December 20th 2017 we used to provide links to our products for sale on Amazon. However I pulled those links after several attempts to monetize that traffic by signing up for for the Amazon associates program resulted in a denied application. The reason given was that our blog has not been updated since early 2015.

Based on the short time our last associates account was active (17 days) we had 373 clicks on our associates links, 130 orders were shipped, 36.73% conversion rate and we helped generate $4,746.96 in sales for Amazon. Our earnings were $139.46, mostly thanks to a $2,100 order for LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 31313 Robot Kit for Kids (something I might need to consider purchasing for my daughter) and $640 purchase for our Sendt Master Keyed Lock 10 pack. I don’t understand why our blog has to be updated in order to qualify for a associates account given the high quality traffic we are directing to Amazon but according to Amazon regularly updating our blog may result in our next application being approved so here I am with our first post in 3 years.

My plan is to post some old articles that are marked as pending never actually published for some reason, small articles, blurbs, links to Amazon products that I think are cool or have found useful in the past along with links to other articles several times a week for 2-3 weeks and apply again along with adding links to our Amazon products back to our website (with our new associates ID of course).

I don’t know if that will be good enough but it is worth a shot and could result in $75 – $200 a month in income from Amazon Associates. It isn’t much but it will be enough to mostly pay our our 3dcart and Blue Host bills.
